Playing by ear since the age of 3, Heidi has been a keyboardist, vocalist and songwriter for most of her life. Whether it was competing in school talent shows, starring in high school musicals, being in many bands and club acts, music has always been a major part of her life. While other high schoolers flipped burgers, Heidi played church organ (sometimes playing songs from the radio all slow and churchy, to entertain herself, and never getting caught). After winning the PNPA State Scholarship in Journalism, Heidi went to school for one semester, hated it, then moved out west to be a musician on the Scottsdale/Phoenix club and resort circuit for three years.
After a musical equipment theft forced her back east, she worked her way to re-buying her equipment and then played events, clubs, happy hours, restaurant piano, and more church organ around the Pittsburgh area. Once she became a mom, it was no longer practical to be playing out until the wee hours, so she stopped performing. In the meantime she wrote radio and television jingles, and then after her entry into the games industry, wrote video game music and podcast themes. All the while, she has gone out for karaoke and written her own original music. Now that she is nearly an empty nester, Heidi contemplates the best ways of sharing her music with the world. Here are some samples!
